For a too big child, one doesn't recommend a régime but a modification of the food habits and another life style.

If one believes the medical observations and the nutritional investigations of it, the children would have today a distinctly caloric food than there are some decades... and yet, they are more and more numerous to be too big.

  ..More of overweight

A paradox that is only obvious. Because an excessive weight hold is necessarily bound to an unbalance between the returns (what one eats) and the expenses of energy (notably those bound to the physical activity). The contributions energizing food means probably lowered at the children... more that for a lot of between them, candies and other erosions are added to the rest of the food! But they eat maybe again too much in relation to their caloric needs. Indeed, they expend much energy less and less:  they spend a lot of time before the television or the video games, they walk little, use the elevator... Brief, in one or two generations, their physical activity cut down considerably, and their expenses energizing averages decreased of as much. A non negligible risk of overweight results from it... especially if one has a good appetite!

..How to warn the obesity at the child, or to fight against an installed overweight?

First rule:  when a child is in overweight, not to make get thinner him...

Surprising, but logical! Because it is sufficient to let an obese child continue to grow while looking after what he doesn't take a weight (or to what he takes some little), so that he recovers an acceptable weight progressively for his size... And it without must have gotten thinner ever strictly speaking! It is why it is important to react enough early in case of ponderal excess during the childhood, in order to take advantage of the dynamics of the organism during this period of growth.

Second rule:  to act on several lands

It is necessary to intervene on the food, of course. Indeed, to modify the energizing balance, it necessarily passes by the control of the caloric contributions. But outside of some very particular cases of massive obesity, one never prescribes a strict régime to a child. It is sufficient to decrease the quantities in general certainly but especially to reorganize his meals and to really orient his food choices, while implying the child in any case:  it is important that he agrees, and understands why he is not going to eat quiter as before.

One must to play on the physical activity as at the same time. To move themselves more, to run, to walk, to practice sport, it increases the energizing expenses. And it is the best means to allow a child to have a sufficiently elevated caloric level and the varied food contributions, of where a least nutritional deficiency risk. Other non negligible advantage:  less frustration for the child, therefore more of success luck.

Finally, it is necessary to intervene often also on the domestic environment. He is clear that if the meals proposed to the child in his family are unbalanced and very fat;  so home each uses at will in the refrigerator;  so cookies, candies and sugary drinks are always close at hand;  if the television is permanently open... it will be well difficult to the young obese child to modify his behaviors, and to recover a correct weight.

While helping a too big child to recover the weight that allows him to feel "better in his skin", one helps it to carry themselves better since today, and one assures him an option "good health" for the future.
