The responsible oblivions of pill of 20000 IVG
Whereas 95% of the French women use a contraception, the number of interruptions voluntary of pregnancy (IVG) remains elevated: 220000 per year. Publish to some weeks of interval, two studies intend to raise the veil in part on this situation while underlining the importance of the pill oblivions, responsible of near 20 000 abortions!
In France, more of 4,5 millions of women use an oral contraception. They generally judge this convenient method, tolerated well and sûre1. But all is not so pink to the country of the pill, and several studies showed lately that the regular hold could endure many oublis2,3.
Of the oblivions responsible for 10% of the IVG

Profile of the "forgetful" user
Started in February 2001, a survey on the oral contraception and his/her/its observance (Coraliance) tempted to value the number of oblivions during the last 6 months, the behaviors of the women at the time of an oblivion and some absent-minded user marks to draw up a profile. 617 gynecologists interrogated 3 316 of their patients of more than 18 years under pill. The results of this survey are for more than one reason astonishing
* Frequency of the oblivions:
92% of the women declared to have forgotten to take their pill in the last 6 months, between 1 and 5 times. 42% of these oblivions occurred at the time of the first week for the users of pill with free interval (of which 18% the day of the resumption). No geographical or domestic disparity has cannot be underlined. Only age seems to play: the age group 30-34 years forget their pill more frequently.
A "guilty" distraction that one can correlate with their child's desire. "He is true that one can wonder more or less about these oblivions unconscious.
