To work, you feel tired, irritable, you lost your concentration or your enthusiasm, you multiply the small problems of health. Attention, you endure stress maybe.

According to a CSA poll (July 2000), "three salaried employees out of four say themselves concerned" by stress, in particular because of an overcharge of work, of difficult delays to respect, of more and more strong requirements of customers or a too fast cadence.

Stress is before a whole normal reaction of adaptation to a situation. In a society that always asks for more productivity, some people will need situations of emergency, conflicts or complexity to pass themselves and to work in an efficient way. Of others, on the contrary, will react more violently to what seems them to be an aggression. If stress is interrupted, the balance comes back. But if he becomes chronic, there is danger, because he pumps a lot of energy while constantly asking the organism to adjust. He modifies the nervous and hormonal balance and lower the capacities of concentration and productivity. Without forgetting the psychological repercussions more or less stern, and the cardiovascular problems, as hypertension, that he can generate.

There is not a remedy miracle against stress. To really live his/her/its life to work, it is necessary to accept the existence of pressures and to identify them. To each to elaborate the strategy that invites him. In most cases, it is not the stressful situation that counts the more, but rather the value that one grants to him.

In a first time, the self-knowledge, the lucidity and the receding in relation to a situation, are weapons to adapt or to reduce stress. Avoid tobacco, caffeine or the alcohol that, in a first time, calm stress but, to the long, make reinforce the anguish only; Have a balanced food, possibly completed by vitamins and trace elements; Cultivate a harmonious domestic and social ambiance; To work, learn to say no, to delegate, to communicate; Make yourselves pleasure:  to the lunchtime, scamper away and share your meal, out of the workplace, with people that you appreciate. In the evening, make a small station wagon before going back at home:  walk yourselves, go see an expo, make a little shopping.
Arrange yourselves of the leisures, find new centers of interest:  your life must not be centered solely on work;
