Mom's vitamin D reinforces baby's teeth
The deficiency in vitamin D at the pregnant woman could affect the calcification of their child's teeth since the youngest age: Â she would increase the risk of apparition of caries. All the more reason to avoid the deficiencies during pregnancy! Of the researchers of the university of Manitoba (Canada) followed 206 women to the 2nd quarter of pregnancy. Only 10,5% among them presented a quantity of vitamin adequate D, proof that the majority of the pregnant women endures this type of deficiency. The scientists were interested then in their offspring at the age of 16 months: Â 21,6% presented some shortcomings to the level of their enamel and 33,6% of the tooth decays. On the other hand, the few of future moms presenting a rate of vitamin normal D are those whose children have the less caries.
It is the first survey to show that the levels of vitamin maternal D have an influence on the teeth of milk and the development of the caries since the youngest age. To supervise his rate of vitamin D would be therefore good for the moms as well as for the quenottes of their children.
