The President of Republic has just confided to the Pr Jean-Pierre Grünfeld, nephrologist in the Necker hospital in Paris, member of the academy of the sciences, a mission destined to elaborate some recommendations for the neighbor plane cancer. The National institute of the Cancer (Inca) is mobilized to bring him his contest and to come with it in this mission. Nicolas Sarkozy sent October 21 a mail in the Pr Jean-Pierre Grünfeld confiding him the neighbor's preparation Plane cancer. The Plane precedent (2003-2007) ended in last March. "In France, in 25 years, the number of new cases of cancers nearly doubled. In 2005, the yearly impact of the cancer was estimated to 320 000 whereas it was of 170 000 cases in 1980. The tumors are henceforth the first reason of death in our country" writes Nicolas Sarkozy. The President asks the Pr Grünfeld to constitute a commission composed of personalities descended of research, of the system of health, of the médico-social sector, of the associations of patients and the enterprise to prepare some recommendations for the future plan.
The priorities to develop in this new plan? Research, the surveillance of the cancer risk, the prevention, struggle against the inequality of access to the care, a better coordination ville/hôpital and an improvement of life after the cancer.
The National institute of the Cancer (Inca) is designated as "the operator of reference" on which will lean the Pr Grünfeld. The propositions should be put back in January 2009.
