The League against the cancer inaugurates a new service to the sick people: the APESEO project (physical Activities and aesthetic care in oncology).

The objective? To take in account the bodily impact of a cancer in the dimension of the care. this project will be experimented in 6 pilot sites: Annonay (Ardèche), Brest (Finistère), Bordeaux (Gironde), Montpellier (Hérault), Nantes (Loire Atlantique), and Saint-Etienne (Loire).

This experimentation is led to develop a new shape of support to people affected by a cancer, centered on the hold in account of the bodily repercussions of the illness and his/her treatments,:

By the slant of the aesthetic care (modeling, advice in makeup, etc.) dispensed by professionals, the sick people can revitalize themselves and himself réapproprier their body. This care participates in the reconstruction of the esteem of oneself.

By the slant of physical activities adapted (soft gym, hike, etc.) achieved in group, the professors help people to take confidence in their bodily capacity. This gathering permits to break the isolation of the participants and incites them to confront themselves to the look of the other.

She also has for goal of: to Welcome these people in local adapted to the development of these activities and the needs of the patients. Also, recommendations for the arrangement of the local have been established and a movable identitaire has specifically been created for this project.

To create the conditions of a hold in continuous charge between the hospital and the city. To adapt to the evolutions of the course of care of the sick people, this project rests upstream on partnerships (establishments of care) and downstream (rooms of sport, etc.) of the departmental Committee of the League.

The League against the cancer thanks to the experience of his departmental Committees put the distress of the bodily picture forward for the patient reaches cancer because of the illness herself and of the treatments that there is associated. The patients testify of a confidence loss in them. It is necessary to take therefore in account the bodily impact in the dimension of care.
