In France, "The antibiotics, it is more automatic." The campaigns of sensitization tracks since 2002 carried their fruits. The consumption of antibiotics lowered 23% in 5 years, the hexagon becoming thus a good pupil within the union European. This decrease came with a reduction of the resistance of the microbes to these medicines. In the beginning of the years 2 000, France was the European country that consumed the more of antibiotics and had the strongest rate of bacterial resistances in city and to the hospital. The Ministry of Health launched a campaign of sensitization general public under the slogan "the antibiotics, it is more automatic" in 2002. This country, coupled to the setting to disposition of fast tests to differentiate the viral or bacterial anginas and to an action targeted toward the physicians, permitted to make lower the consumption of antibiotics of 25% in 5 years. It represents the best result of the union European all the same in term of objective of reduction of the consumption of antibiotics! The patients are less numerous to ask their physician to prescribe them some antibiotics: thus, in 2001, 45% of the parents hoped for an order for their sick child, against 25% currently.
Consequence of this more reasonable consumption (and reasoned) of antibiotics, the resistance of the microbes to the antibiotics also lowered. The proportion of pneumococci resistant to the penicillin passed from 47% in 2001 to 34,5% in 2005.
