There has been some concern about an alleged increased risk of prostate cancer after vasectomy. But recent research from New Zealand found no link between them - so the only excuse now is cowardice!

Cross your legs for this one lads, because it's about vasectomy — a pair of snips that many of us have found all sorts of excuses for avoiding, the main one being cowardice.

But there has been another worry around for a while and that's an alleged increased risk of prostate cancer after vasectomy.

Although no-one's ever provided a sensible biological reason to explain why preventing sperm getting to the outside world should affect the prostate, there have been a couple of studies suggesting a problem.

Well according to recent research from New Zealand, the only excuse we blokes can fall back upon now is being lily-livered — because they've been unable to show any link with prostate cancer.

The researchers compared over 900 men with prostate cancer to over 1000 healthy men and could find no increased risk associated with having had a vasectomy up to 25 years beforehand.

The only thing that did raise their chances of prostate cancer was having a father or brother with the disease. Smoking, alcohol, number of children and ethnicity made no difference.

So boys, you can't let science stand between you and a pair of scissors. Just lie back and think of New Zealand.
