A record French fertility!
Friday August 22, 2008 The data provided by the National institute of Statistics and the Economic Studies are rather rejoicing. France is one of the most fertile countries of the union European: Â the birth rate is now of 2 children by woman, highest level since 30 years. The French population is now estimated to about 61 530 000 people, what classifies it to the second rank of the countries the more populated of the union European to 27, behind Germany, strong of his 82,3 millions of inhabitants, but before United Kingdom and Italy. The reason of this improvement? France is one of the most fertile countries of the union European: Â a total of 830 300 births has been posted, number on the increase of 2,8% in one year. The number of aged women between 20 and 40 years, at the origin of the big majority of the births, decrease, but the number of children that they have increased. He/it is now on average of 2. The age of the motherhood also has the tendency to rise. In metropolitan France, 52,8% of the newborns have a mother of at least 30 years, whereas they were 45,8% in 1996.
This fertility doesn't manage all the same to stop the ageing of the population. Currently, 10,3 millions of people are aged of 65 years or more, either 16,2% of the population whereas they reached 15% has 15 years. An observation that goes contrary to the youngest:  the population of less than 20 years passed from 26,7% to 25% in the same period.
Last good news:  the life expectancy is on the increase in France. She  reaches the 77,2 years for the men and 84,1 for the women, either a respective gain of 5 and 4,5 months in 1 year. The Frenchwomen are the only ones with the Spaniards to be able to long lawfully for this age. Let's hope that these tendencies to the rise are confirmed in the time.
