Taking estrogen-containing dietary supplements of plant is to prevent osteoporosis in menopausal women suffer from common method. U.S. new study shows that this method is not as effective as originally thought.

The researchers from soybean cotyledon, big bean sprouts, alfalfa and Pueraria lobata isoflavone extract of plant research, and that four kinds of plant estrogen and traditional estrogen replacement therapy were compared. The results found that the use of phytoestrogens, only from soybean cotyledon and large bean sprouts derived isoflavones can bone loss in postmenopausal women decreased by 9% to 5%, while the conventional treatment is bone loss can reduce menopausal women 22% ~ 24%.

The researchers pointed out that the prevention of osteoporosis, the best method is scientific diet, exercise.

Women after menopause, estrogen secretion would be reduced, and lead to memory loss, hot flashes, fatigue, irritability, and reduced bone mineral density and other issues. Estrogen replacement therapy and other traditional treatments were once popular, but side effects have been limited use. Later, scientists have found a safer estrogen that is extracted from the plant estrogen, so taking phytoestrogen containing diet supplements become the more popular methods of estrogen supplement.
